Route 5 - Versant Road - Pokemon X and Y Guide - IGN (2024)

Route 5 - Versant Road is a short route in central Kalos. It connects Lumiose City in the northeast with Camphrier Town in the southwest.

The instant you enter the route you will meet Korrina, the Shalour City Gym Leader. You will have a short conversation before she takes off.

A small skate park is nearby the entrance to this route. If you ride your roller skates quickly towards the rail on the right, you can grind to a Super Potion.

The first Pokemon Trainers of the route are located to the west. You must battle both of them at the same time in a Double Battle.

Twins Faith & Joy - P352

After the battle, head south into the tall grass to find a Great Ball. Next, go up the set of stairs to the west to meet up with your friends. One of them will even challenge you to a Pokemon Battle!

Pokemon Trainer Tierno – P1,200

Defeat Tierno to earn one Honey. Use this item where wild Pokemon are to attract hordes. Continue north to find another Pokemon Trainer.

Rising Star Hamish – P780

Before moving on, skate on the rail to the north to reach a Super Potion. With the medicine in hand, follow the path up the hill to the west.

When you reach the top of the hill you will find another rail that leads back down to the east. Grind this rail like the last two to reach an Oran Berry Tree. Pick up the berry off the floor, jump the ledge to the east, and climb back up the hill. Two Pokemon Trainers on roller skates will be skating around a few cones to the north.

Roller Skater Winnie – P352

Roller Skater Florin – P384

North of these trainers is another rail. Grind the rail west, then take another rail to the south. These rails will lead you to TM01 Hone Claws.

Head south to continue along the route. When you see a trainer to the east, walk in front of him to challenge him to a Pokemon Battle.

Rising Star Tyson – P600

A few steps south of Rising Star Tyson is an X Attack in the flowers. Follow the dirt road to the southwest until you reach another Pokemon Trainer walking around in a circle.

Backpacker Heike – P480

Continue along the path to the south to reach one last Pokemon Trainer walking in a circle within a patch of flowers.

Youngster Keita – P288

To the east are a few prickly bushes that can be cut down by a Pokemon that knows HM01 Cut, but you'll have to come back later to do this. Follow the road to the west to Camphrier Town.

Return Later with HM01 Cut

Return later once you can use HM01 Cut in the field. Cut down the prickly bushes at the far west part of the route near Camphrier Town. The northern bush has Sharp Beak on the other side. The southern bush has trainer on the other side.
